PlenitudPR, nestled in the lush hills of Las Marías, Puerto Rico, is a nonprofit organization that has been at the forefront of sustainable living and education. Dedicated to empowering communities through hands-on experiences, this organization combines sustainability, education, and community engagement to create a positive impact across the island.

Sustainable Agriculture and Agroecology
At the core of Plenitud PR’s work is its educational farm, where participants are immersed in agroecological practices. These methods emphasize food sovereignty, environmental stewardship, and organic farming. Through workshops and training programs, community members learn techniques such as soil regeneration, crop diversity, and sustainable gardening. These initiatives address local challenges like food insecurity and environmental degradation while promoting healthier and self-reliant communities.
Holistic Education Programs for Youth
PlenitudPR is committed to shaping the next generation of environmental stewards through holistic education. Their programs for children and adolescents integrate environmental science, arts, and leadership development. Designed to inspire and empower, these workshops teach practical skills while fostering creativity, teamwork, and a deeper connection to the natural world.

Safe Water ProgramAccess to clean water remains a significant challenge for many in Puerto Rico. In response, PlenitudPR developed the “Agua Segura” program, which educates communities on rainwater harvesting and purification systems. Participants learn to build and maintain these systems, ensuring access to safe and sustainable water resources. This initiative also fosters resilience in the face of natural disasters, a recurring issue on the island.

Bioconstruction and Sustainable Living
PlenitudPR pioneers bioconstruction projects, using natural and locally sourced materials to create environmentally friendly structures. These projects, which include homes, classrooms, and community spaces, serve as educational models for sustainable architecture. Participants in bioconstruction workshops gain valuable skills and inspiration to adopt these practices in their own communities.
“Few places in the world are blessed with the natural abundance that can be found in Puerto Rico. Geographically, the island features several microclimates abundant in water, sun and soil.” Laura Sofia Garcia Canto
Community Engagement and Support

Beyond their educational offerings, Plenitud PR has a strong commitment to supporting local communities. One notable initiative includes the distribution of fresh produce boxes to elders in need (Amos Mis Abus). These acts of service reflect the organization’s dedication to addressing immediate needs while fostering long-term solutions.
Their vision is to promote food sovereignty, improve health, and increase access to resources for and with their community. Using high-yield biointensive agroecology, they grow and process over 150 pounds of produce each week on just ¼ acre of land! In collaboration with other local farmers, they provide this food at an affordable cost through the Placita Agrícola market initiative.
